Fast-rising Nigerian singer and songwriter, Fomę Greenę, has revealed how personal emotions, loneliness and life experiences inspired her journey into music, describing the art as a powerful tool for healing and self-expression.
The singer, whose sound blends soulful melodies with deeply emotional storytelling, said music started as a personal refuge during moments he struggled to express how she felt.
Speaking in a recent chat ahead of her forthcoming release, the singer explained that music helped her communicate emotions that words often failed to capture.
“Music began as a way to express loneliness and emotions I couldn’t explain. It was also a way to make people smile in that moment,” she said.
Greenę, who describes her sound as soulful, emotional and honest, noted that his goal has always been to create music that resonates with listeners on a deeper level.
“My sound is soulful, emotional and honest — music that speaks to the heart,” she added.
The singer also disclosed that her upcoming release scheduled for March 23 explores themes of love, hope and emotional clarity, reflecting different experiences people go through in relationships.
According to her, the songs “Question” and “Love” highlight the emotional struggle between holding on to love and learning when to let go.
“My new release reflects different emotions around love, hope and personal clarity. ‘Question’ seeks clarity and ‘Love’ is about letting go even while your heart yearns in hope of something or someone precious,” she said.
Reflecting on the deeper meaning behind the project, the singer noted that the songs serve as reminders that it is sometimes necessary to walk away from relationships while still holding on to hope.
“They remind me that it’s okay to say goodbye to someone you love, okay to hope, and okay to seek clarity with boldness,” she said.
She further encouraged listeners to embrace their emotions without losing themselves in the process.
“I want listeners to know it’s okay to say goodbye to someone you love, it’s okay to hope again, and it’s okay to search for clarity. Feel deeply, love honestly, but never lose yourself in the process,” Greenę stated.
With the forthcoming release, the singer hopes to further connect with audiences who find comfort and understanding in music that reflects real-life emotions and experiences.
