ABUJA — President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has lauded the resilience of businesses in the Federal Capital Territory, calling on government to improve the business environment through policies that enhance ease of doing business and access to finance.
In a statement by ACCI Media and Strategy Officer, Olayemi John-Mensah, on Thursday, the Chamber said the Sallah period offers a moment to recognise the contributions of businesses to economic growth and national development, despite prevailing challenges.
Obegolu congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, noting that the discipline, sacrifice and values demonstrated during the period are critical for building sustainable enterprises.
He praised the commitment and entrepreneurial spirit of the business community, urging operators to remain innovative, optimistic and steadfast in navigating economic headwinds.
“As we celebrate Sallah, let us renew our commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity. Together, with the right support and a shared vision, we can build a more vibrant and resilient economy,” he stated.
The ACCI president also called on businesses to strengthen unity, collaboration and ethical practices, stressing that collective effort is key to unlocking new opportunities.
He acknowledged ongoing government efforts but also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development and a stable economic environment to enable enterprises to thrive, while wishing the business community a peaceful and prosperous Sallah celebration.
