The Rotary Club of Asaba Downtown successfully organized the 2nd Edition of its Inter-School Quiz Competition for public secondary schools in Oshimili South and Oshimili North Local Government Areas of Delta State.
The competition, tagged SMART KIDS CHALLENGE 2.0, recorded an impressive participation of over 48 students during the preliminary stage, with 16 outstanding students from 16 different schools qualifying for the grand finale.
The final round was held on February 28, 2026, at the Delta State Innovation Hub, located by DBS Junction, Asaba.
In the end, ChiChi Victory of Westend Mixed Secondary School emerged triumphant, taking home ₦200,000, a MacBook iPad, and a coveted spot for S.T.E.A.M training. Okene Joseph Eze of Women Affairs Secondary School and Onwueme Benedict Ebube of Isioma Onyeobi College rounded out the top three, winning ₦120,000 and ₦80,000, respectively.
The event was more than just a quiz competition – it was a platform for young minds to shine, and a testament to the power of education and technology.

The competition was conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination, aimed at exposing students—particularly those in public schools—to digital testing formats, in line with the current trends of national examinations such as JAMB and WAEC.
During the exercise, it was observed that many of the students were highly intelligent but initially nervous due to limited exposure to computer-based examinations. After a brief orientation session organized by the Rotary team, the students adapted quickly and performed excellently.
Additionally, the 13 other finalists will benefit from a one-month S.T.E.A.M Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) training at Schoolville Academy, courtesy of Mr. Ikechukwu, CEO of Olili Foods/HIZO Africa, and Mr. Charles Omordia, CEO of Schoolville Academy.
This initiative is centered not only on exposing students to the world of technology but also on reviving the reading culture among public secondary school students in the Delta state.
