ABUJA: A multipartisan coalition of youths under the aegis of Renewed Hope Agenda Continuity Marshals REHACMA, has asked the anti-Tinubu coalition of opposition leaders to shelve their ambitions in favour of President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the country’s current economic and structural reforms require leadership continuity beyond 2027.
Speaking at a forum on Wednesday in Abuja, National Coordinator of the coalition, Osawemwenhio Uwagboe, argued that Nigeria’s path to prosperity depends on consistent policy direction.
Uwagboe emphasized that REHACMA is a movement of “responsible young Nigerians” who believe that governance should be supported when it demonstrates the courage to tackle long-standing national challenges.
“Nigeria needs stability in leadership and continuity of progressive reforms. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu represents the experience and political capacity required to guide the nation through difficult reforms. Our members come from different political backgrounds, but we are united by the belief that Nigeria will prosper under this leadership”, he stated.
Echoing this sentiment, REHACMA National Youth Leader Yusuf Ishaya, formerly of the African Democratic Congress ADC, noted that the visible progress under the current administration prompted his alignment with the APC.
He urged other youths to set aside partisan blinkers and support the president’s efforts to move the country forward.
The movement’s Woman Leader, Fatima Lamisula, further argued that the complexities of Nigeria’s challenges cannot be fully resolved within a single four-year term.
She maintained that the “visible changes” recorded in the last three years justify a second term for the president to consolidate on his achievements.
North Central Coordinator Jerry Gwom cited specific policy gains, including the floating of the Naira and the removal of the fuel subsidy, which he said have dismantled systems previously rigged to favour a few “overnight billionaires.”
Gwom also praised the administration’s inclusive approach, noting that the North Central region and the youth demographic now feel a genuine sense of belonging in the national interest.
“We want this government to continue because we are assured of its inclusivity. We believe that after this tenure, the foundation will be laid for power to eventually transition to our generation”, said Gwom.
