The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, for his commitment to economic development through large-scale agricultural investment.

Ogundoyin gave the commendation, during a courtesy visit to Solomon Kensington Agro Allied Limited, a multi-billion-naira farm, located in Iperu-Remo in Ikenne local government area of Ogun State.

The Speaker described the agricultural venture as a major contribution to economic growth, noting that private investments of such magnitude would play a significant role in strengthening food security and employment generation.

“I am highly impressed by the scale of investment and the environmental friendliness of this farm,” Ogundoyin said.

“This project clearly demonstrates Hon. Adebutu’s commitment to economic development, not only in Ogun State, but in Nigeria as a whole. Agriculture remains a critical driver of growth, and initiatives like this are worthy of commendation.”

During the visit, Adebutu personally led the Speaker and his entourage on a tour of the facility, showcasing the farm’s extensive operations, including an international-standard processing plant, pig pens housing over 30,000 pigs, and a ranch with cow barns accommodating more than 3,000 cattle, alongside other livestock units.

Ogundoyin also applauded the workforce at the facility, noting the dedication of the hundreds of workers on duty during the visit.

“I must also commend the management and staff of the farm for their dedication. Seeing hundreds of workers actively engaged here shows the huge employment potential of agricultural investments,” he said.

The Speaker further praised Adebutu for maintaining high operational standards that align with international best practices.

Members of the Speaker’s delegation included Prof. Abraham Osinubi and Dr. Aliu A. Soyingbe, Dean and Sub-Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Lagos.
