Ogoja, Cross River State – Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogoja Local Government Area have formally endorsed Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where party leaders, traditional rulers, and community elders unanimously approved the trio through a voice vote, describing them as the preferred candidates for the next electoral cycle.
The meeting also called on APC members across the Cross River North Senatorial District to unite and mobilise support for Senator Jarigbe, Governor Otu, and President Tinubu, emphasizing that their re-election would sustain development and political stability in the region.
Several traditional rulers and community leaders commended Senator Jarigbe for his performance in office, noting his commitment to infrastructure development and human capital empowerment across the senatorial district.
“In the interest of unity and continued development of Cross River North, Senator Jarigbe deserves the collective support of all stakeholders across the five local government areas of the district,” the leaders stated.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their backing of Governor Otu, praising his administration’s infrastructural initiatives and governance approach, which have brought visible improvements to Ogoja and other parts of the state.
Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area, Hon. Chris Agbe, along with the APC chapter chairman, women and youth leaders, student representatives, and other party stakeholders, highlighted the senator’s achievements in infrastructure and human capital development.
A motion to formally adopt Senator Jarigbe, Governor Otu, and President Tinubu as consensus candidates for the 2027 elections was moved by Rt. Hon. Peter Igbodor, seconded by Rt. Hon. Paddy Uguge, and unanimously approved by all stakeholders present.
In response, Senator Jarigbe expressed gratitude to party leaders and stakeholders for their confidence, pledging to intensify efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy. He also promised to work closely with Governor Otu and President Tinubu to attract further development projects to Cross River North.
The meeting saw the attendance of several prominent figures, including Hon. Egbung Odama, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Edi, Amb. Akpang Obiodun, Chief Peter Ojie, Chief Wabily Nyiam, High Chief Timmy Tom Udam, Papa Dornclaimz Enamhe, Chief Igbe Aruku, and other notable community and party leaders.
