NCDMB, Stowpoint empower 50 Edo Youths with refrigeration, air-conditioning repair skills

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Stowpoint Services Limited, has concluded a vocational training and empowerment programme on refrigeration and air-conditioning repair for 50 youths in Edo State.

The two-week training, which held from February 23 to March 6, 2026, in Benin City, was designed to equip participants with practical technical skills aimed at improving their employability and entrepreneurial opportunities within the energy and technical services sector.

The programme forms part of efforts by NCDMB to strengthen local capacity development and support youth empowerment through skill acquisition initiatives across the country.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, a representative of Stowpoint Services Limited, Chioma Okafor, commended NCDMB for the initiative, noting that the training would help expand technical expertise among young people in the state.

Okafor said the programme would not only improve participants’ job prospects but also contribute to economic growth by encouraging self-employment and service delivery in refrigeration and air-conditioning maintenance.

She expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would utilise the skills acquired during the training to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
