Modola is gearing up for a return to the spotlight with a brand new single, “Kupe,” featuring Bhadboi OML.

The track is set to drop April 10th and marks the Italian-Nigerian performer’s first release of the year.

Billed as a high-energy, dance-ready record,  “Kupe” is expected to fit right into the type of rhythm-based sound both Modola and Bhadboi Oml are known for. As a song whose title speaks for itself, it is expected to find a home in dance clubs everywhere, all while Modola continues her march into the world of Afro-fusion music.

The release follows a steady rise for Modola, who spent much of last year building momentum onstage. One of the standout moments came at the Olamide Live in London show, where the singer was brought out by Olamide. The concert, which also saw Seyi Vibez and Asake take the stage, as well as Lil Kesh and Darkoo making appearances, saw Modola perform in front of a packed crowd in London.

Offstage, the artist has also been opening up about the process behind recent records. Speaking on “Dynamite,” produced by Oodun, Modola pointed to a more intentional approach to crafting songs with cross-border appeal — a direction that carries into “Kupe.”

With Bhadboi OML joining the mix, “Kupe” arrives as a collaborative effort aimed at keeping that momentum going, while setting the tone for what’s shaping up to be a busy year ahead.
