Media personality and creative entrepreneur, Kevin David, has launched a new YouTube talk show titled INFLUENTIAL, a culture-driven series aimed at amplifying the voices shaping Africa’s beauty, fashion, hospitality, nightlife and entrepreneurial landscape.
The series, which premiered this week on YouTube, is designed to document the evolution of influence across the continent by spotlighting individuals redefining industries and setting trends both locally and globally.
Speaking on the motivation behind the project, David said the platform was created to tell authentic African stories that are often overlooked.
“There are so many Africans shaping global trends, but their stories don’t always get told in full,” he said. “INFLUENTIAL gives them a space to share their journey, unfiltered, real and inspiring.”
According to him, the show features a diverse lineup of guests, including beauty industry experts, skincare professionals, hospitality executives, nightlife curators and fashion designers. The conversations, he explained, go beyond surface-level narratives to explore the business models, creative processes and personal journeys behind their success.
Each episode combines in-depth discussions with lighter segments such as rapid-fire games and spontaneous exchanges, offering viewers a closer look at the personalities behind leading brands and businesses. The programme also shines a light on emerging and niche sectors, from cosmetic aftercare and bespoke tailoring to lifestyle services, that are gaining traction across urban Africa.
David noted that in a media environment heavily influenced by imported content, the series aims to provide a locally rooted alternative that celebrates African excellence with global relevance.
“This is about more than just fame or following,” he added. “It’s about documenting a new class of innovators, creatives who are building empires, influencing culture and doing it with style and substance.”
With a vibrant set design and strong visual identity, the weekly show targets a youthful and digitally savvy audience seeking deeper, more meaningful engagement with African creators.
Episodes of INFLUENTIAL air weekly on David’s YouTube channel, with extended clips, behind-the-scenes features and interactive content available to subscribers.
