….Celebrates Achievements for International Women’s Day 2026

The Habeeb Okunola Foundation (HOF) marked International Women’s Day 2026 in Brampton, Canada, with a dynamic programme aimed at empowering women through skills development and recognition. The event, held on March 13 and 14, was organised in partnership with Make Mee Elegant Foundation, the City of Brampton, and The Salvation Army.

At the heart of the celebration was an interactive training session at The Salvation Army’s Brampton premises, where local women learned practical, income-generating crafts. Participants mastered the making of durable flip-flop slippers, cloth stoning to embellish fabrics, and creating fancy key holders—skills designed to foster immediate entrepreneurial opportunities.

High Chief Dr. Habeeb Olalekan Okunola, founder of HOF and President of CINI Holdings, was represented by Mrs. Kehinde Adelaja-Okoroafor, who emphasised that the foundation’s mission is to turn talent into sustainable business opportunities. Three outstanding participants received immediate start-up capital to ensure their skills could be translated into viable livelihoods.

The initiative drew recognition from city leadership. Mayor Patrick Brown commended the foundation’s work, formally thanking High Chief Okunola and inviting a meeting in May 2026 to explore further collaboration with the City of Brampton.

On March 14, an awards ceremony highlighted the accomplishments of prominent Brampton women whose efforts have positively shaped the community. The Deputy Mayor represented Mayor Brown at the event, celebrating established leaders while reinforcing the foundation’s dual mission of empowering emerging entrepreneurs.

The HOF initiative demonstrated the transformative impact of combining skills training, financial support, and recognition, reinforcing the importance of community-focused action and international collaboration in promoting gender equality and economic empowerment.
