Group endorses Oghuma’s bid for second term, highlights experience

A socio-political group, Unity Voice, has urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State to consider Hon. Johnson Oghuma for a second term in the House of Representatives, representing Etsako Federal Constituency.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Benin City, the group’s Protem Chairman, Abdulkareem Yakubu, called for careful consideration of Oghuma amid contestation for the Etsako seat.

Yakubu praised Oghuma’s experience as a grassroots politician and former lawmaker, noting his track record of representation across the three local government areas that make up the constituency.

He said the former lawmaker’s legislative experience and familiarity with constituency needs should be key factors in the party’s decision-making process.

“We acknowledge that others are interested in the seat, but experience remains a critical factor in legislative duties,” Yakubu stated, noting Oghuma’s tenure in the House included constituency-focused projects and legislative initiatives.

The group appealed to the APC leadership to prioritise continuity and experience in selecting its candidate for Etsako Federal Constituency.
