ABUJA – IN a bid to boost food production, the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, NALDA, has built capacity of directors and heads of department to drive mandate of the agency.
The three-day retreat with the theme ‘Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision to Abundance Creating Strategic Alignment to Drive Results and Scale Impact)’ was held in Lagos.
The Executive Secretary/CEO of NALDA, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, in a keynote address at the opening of the three-day retreat explained the essence of the retreat capacity building of the Directors and Heads of Departments of the Authority was to align the leadership of the authority with its ongoing projects.
Adebayo also said the projects are of strategic importance to Nigerians and the economic development of the country, therefore, it is imperative to hold the retreat in order to make it articulate to them on a short, medium and long term vision for the Authority.
He noted, “This retreat is to foster the culture of excellence in the execution of NALDA’s mandate. With shared commitment and collective ownership of our strategic goals, NALDA will not only transform the trajectory of Nigeria’s agricultural sector, but also play a pivotal role in moving millions of Nigerians from poverty to posterity in the near future.”
Meanwhile, the NALDA boss tasked Directors and Heads of Departments to renew their commitment to continuous learning and adopt innovative approaches in the execution of their responsibilities, in addition to strengthening collaboration and synergy across departments to enhance the Authority’s service delivery to Nigerians.
At the end of the retreat, the participants pledged to translate the insights gained into practical actions that will improve the operational efficiency of the Authority.
