Payment Service Bank, PSB, 9 Payment Service Bank, 9PSB, has launched a new feature, Send to Ghana, aimed at facilitating fast, secure, and seamless cross-border payments for students, families, and businesses.
The feature, embedded in the Bank9ja app, allows individuals and organisations to send and receive money between Nigeria and Ghana, marking a significant step towards strengthening financial connectivity within the West African region.
Powered by Onafriq and the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System, PAPSS, the service is regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and operates exclusively within the Nigeria–Ghana corridor. It promises faster, cost-effective, and reliable payment processing, reducing the time and complexity typically associated with cross-border transactions.
Speaking on the launch, Osa Odiase, CEO of 9PSB, said, “We are happy to launch Send to Ghana – a product feature made possible through our partnership with Onafriq and PAPSS. We trust that this solution will ensure faster, secure, and cost-effective payments for students, families, and businesses, and will simplify Nigeria-Ghana trade. We are breaking down payment barriers for Nigerians and Ghanaians to support one another in real time. Our commitment to financial inclusion continues to drive us to provide digital financial solutions that meet everyday needs for all Nigerians, both at home and abroad.”
Onafriq’s Founder and CEO, Daré Okoudjou, added, “Increasing digital flows within Africa – and to Africa – is at the core of what we do. The launch of ‘Send to Ghana’ with 9PSB is a powerful demonstration of what becomes possible when partners share a common vision: seamless, accessible payments for all. We are thrilled to work with 9PSB to connect Nigeria to Ghana and look forward to unlocking even greater payment possibilities across the continent.”
The Send to Ghana service is available to all customers, including new and existing users, as well as members of the public.
Founded in 2020, 9PSB became Nigeria’s first payment service bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide banking solutions for the unbanked and underbanked. Operating as a fully digital bank, it offers innovative financial services to individuals, businesses, and fintech institutions across the country.
The launch of Send to Ghana underscores 9PSB’s commitment to digital financial inclusion, leveraging technology to provide secure, accessible, and inclusive banking solutions to Nigerians at home and abroad.
