The Edo State Government has pledged its support for Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, the world’s autistic cycling champion.

The State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, disclosed this on Thursday when the Riding for Autism team paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Benin City.

According to the commissioner, Governor Monday Okpebholo and the people of Edo State are proud of Kanyeyachukwu’s achievements in both cycling and painting. He noted that the state is backing him “because he is an inspiration to Edo youths”.

“His journey is not just about cycling; it is about courage, resilience and possibility. As a government, we are proud of him and we support him. We believe his story will inspire millions.

“We commend his courage and assure him of our moral support as he embarks on this historic cycling journey,” the commissioner said.

The cycling team is expected to continue its journey on Friday with a ride to Ore, from where it will proceed to Abeokuta before concluding in Lagos.
