DYTM tasks Nigerians on unity, religious tolerance

The Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DYTM) has urged Nigerians to promote unity and religious tolerance in the country.

President of the group, Comrade Isioma Melekwe Odozi, made the call when he led members on a visit to the Muslim community in Asaba during thoe Ramadan fast.

He said the gesture was aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence and showing solidarity with Muslim faithful observing the Ramadan.

“We came to spend time with our Muslim brothers and sisters and remind them that they are part of us. Both Christianity and Islam teach love, peace, and unity,” he said.

Leaders of the Muslim community expressed appreciation to DYTM for the visit.

Alhaji Yekini Kayode, Youth Leader of the Yoruba Community in Asaba, described the gesture as a commendable act of kindness during Ramadan.

“This is a good deed and something encouraged in Islam, especially during the fasting period. May God bless everyone who made this possible,” he said.

Also speaking, Abdul Fatah Omoogun, thanked the movement for remembering the community and prayed for blessings upon its members.

Ismaili Babatunde Olatunji, Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Non-Indigenous Affairs, said the visit reflects the spirit of unity among residents of Delta State.

According to him, initiatives like this strengthen peace and cooperation among people of different backgrounds.

Participants at the gathering offered prayers for unity, peace, and continued harmony among religious and ethnic groups in the state.
