The Chairman of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Benjamin Omale, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), and the Progressive Governors Forum for the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention in Abuja.
In a press statement issued weekend, Omale commended Tinubu for his support throughout the national exercise, describing it as instrumental to the smooth and peaceful outcome of the convention.
He also praised the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, alongside other progressive governors, for their roles in ensuring the success of the event.
Omale further lauded the convention organizers and congratulated the newly constituted NWC led by Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, expressing confidence that their leadership would strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I extend my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment that led to the resounding success of our National Convention held yesterday in Abuja,” Omale said.
“Your presence, active participation, and collective spirit of unity have once again demonstrated the strength, discipline, and maturity of our party. From the leadership to the grassroots, you all played vital roles in ensuring a peaceful, well-organized, and impactful convention.”
He added that the success of the convention reflected the party’s unity and readiness to move forward with renewed purpose.
“This success is not just an event achieved, but a strong statement of our shared vision, solidarity, and readiness to move forward with renewed purpose. As we return to our respective states and constituencies, let us carry forward the momentum,” he said.
The Benue APC chairman expressed optimism that the ruling party would maintain its strength and secure victory in the 2027 general elections. He noted that both President Tinubu and Governor Alia have performed creditably, earning them support for a second term.
Omale also urged party members and stakeholders nationwide to sustain their efforts toward ensuring the re-election of the president and other APC governors.
The convention, held at Eagle Square in Abuja, drew party leaders from across the federation and featured the inauguration of newly elected NWC members, with Nentawe Yilwatda emerging as National Chairman.
A key highlight of the event was the adoption and ratification of party leadership structures at all levels. The motion for adoption was moved by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and seconded by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, receiving overwhelming support from delegates.
