Nigerian-born, United States-based lawyer, Christmas Akpodiete, has commended the United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, for what he described as exceptional professionalism in shaping the country’s internal and foreign policies to address national and global security concerns.

Akpodiete, in a statement, said Hegseth’s leadership and strategic direction have strengthened the security framework of the United States while also reinforcing international collaboration on key defence and security matters.

According to him, the defence chief has demonstrated a high level of discipline and commitment in handling complex security challenges facing the United States and its allies.

He noted that Hegseth’s approach to leadership reflects a strong dedication to national service and professionalism, adding that such qualities are critical in maintaining stability in an increasingly volatile global security environment.

Akpodiete further stated that effective defence leadership remains vital to sustaining peace and strengthening cooperation among nations confronting emerging security threats.

He said: “Strong and professional leadership within the defence sector is essential for safeguarding national interests and promoting global stability. The professionalism demonstrated by Secretary Hegseth reflects a deep commitment to protecting the nation while also fostering collaboration with international partners.”

The Nigerian-born lawyer also noted that the evolving nature of global security challenges requires coordinated policy responses and strategic planning by key global actors.
