The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), has welcomed the nomination of Taiwo Oyedele, as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, describing the development as a positive step toward strengthening Nigeria’s economic management and advancing reforms that can support housing development.
In a statement signed by Festus Adebayo, Chief Executive Officer of the Africa International Housing Show, the organisation noted that Oyedele’s strong background in fiscal policy, taxation and economic reforms places him in a good position to contribute to policies that can stabilise Nigeria’s economy and encourage investments in housing and infrastructure.
The statement emphasised that fiscal stability and sound economic policies are critical to unlocking large-scale investment in housing development, particularly in areas such as mortgage financing, housing affordability and real estate expansion.
AIHS also recalled that Oyedele participated in the Africa International Housing Show 2025, where he engaged with stakeholders across the housing value chain and expressed willingness to collaborate with the platform on key reforms affecting the sector.
According to the statement, Oyedele volunteered during the engagement to partner with the Africa International Housing Show in advancing reforms in the area of land use administration, a critical factor affecting access to land and housing development in Nigeria.
The organisation further described him as housing-friendly, noting that his openness to policy dialogue aligns with ongoing advocacy efforts aimed at improving Nigeria’s housing ecosystem.
AIHS expressed optimism that his experience in fiscal policy and reform-oriented approach will contribute to creating an enabling economic environment that will support affordable housing delivery, expand mortgage access and encourage greater private sector participation in housing development.
The platform also reiterated its readiness to continue working with government institutions and reform-driven leaders to promote policies that will strengthen land administration, housing finance and sustainable housing development in Nigeria.
