Warri Stadium: Oborevwori expresses happiness with quality of work

The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Honourable Onoriode Joshua Oborevwori, has applauded the pace and quality of work done at the Warri City Stadiums in the state.

Onos Oborevwori spoke on Tuesday, during an inspection tour of the ongoing remodeling of the Warri City Stadium being undertaken by the Delta State Government. 

Speaking at the Warri City Stadium,  Onos Oborevwori said he was impressed with the standard of work and expressed hope that the endd desired results will help in the development and furtherance of sports talents and participation in Delta State.

Engineer James Titus, representative of the contracting firm, PECULIAR Consult, disclosed that construction activities are ongoing relentlessly, to ensure timely completion of the project.

“We are working round the clock to ensure that the stadium is completed on schedule and in line with the required standards,” he said. 

Speaking with journalists after the tour, Onos Oborevwori hailed the contractors for the quality of work so far, expressing optimism that the project will be delivered as planned.

“I am impressed with what I have seen here in Warri. The quality of work gives me confidence that this stadium will be delivered to standard and within the stipulated time,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the resolve of his Excellency, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, to the development, maintenance and protection of sports infrastructure across the state, stressing that standard and functional facilities remain critical to talent development and the sustained growth of sports in Delta State.

Top state government officials who accompanied Onos Oborevwori on the inspection tour include Mr Oghale Ofremu, member Representing Delta South at the Sports Commission; Mr. Festus Ohwojero; former Director-General of the Delta State Sports Commission; Miss Emuobo Egalase, Director-General of the Commission; Mr Paul Omamomo Ojo, the Senior Special Adviser on Sports, Mr. Joe Eyimofe; Mr. Esosa Igbinoba, Special Assistants to the Executive Chairman, Franca Okonmah DIPR, and Mary Enarevba, Direct of Organization, Delta State Sports Commission.
