The Voice of Single Mothers Foundation (VOSMF) is set to host the Power Awards on March 8, 2026, in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
The award ceremony is coinciding with International Women’s Day.
This prestigious event will recognize women who have made significant positive impacts on womanhood and humanity.
VOSMF joins international bodies such as the United Nations, ECOSOC, and CSW in advocating for women’s advancement.Power Awards will celebrate female figures for their profound positive impact on womanhood and humanity.
The Power Awards aims to honour women of influence while providing resources and support to empower single mothers, aligning with VOSMF’s mission.
Reverend Aisha Galadima, Lead Executive of VOSMF, emphasizes the event’s focus on celebrating strength, achievement, and commitment to making a difference.
We are excited to spotlight these incredible leaders and channel the event’s energy into tangibly supporting single mothers to build brighter futures.” Beyond a converge of Style and celebration, it is planned to be a reminder of the power of the woman, in line with the International Women’s Day, we applaud female presence and essence, her unignorable contribution to life through career, innovation, entrepreneurship, health & Medicine, Art and many more,” Galadima said.
Key figures like Ibim Isaacs, Project Manager of The Power Awards, and Justice Ogaranya Slik, Project Director, highlight the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to society, culture, and nation-building.
Mr Isaac described the Power awards as “a movement” adding ” it’s a call, a loud reminder to every member of the global family to place a beyond surface value on the Girl child, the power awards drums home the importance of girl child education and safety. We are reminded that women beyond birth and reproduction play a vital role in the formation of the society, its culture and citizen. “

While Abel Okweku, DGN and President of VOSMF, urges intentional celebration of women’s efforts in paving the way for others.
The Voice of Single Mothers foundation stands on its passionate mission of ensuring the stigma of single motherhood is greatly reduced. It is also passionate about the advocacy for sincere cases of child abandonment and neglect. It has its core activities rooted in Human Capacity development, healthcare, Education and advocacy for all women. It is my dream that one day, we will see female governors and a female president but before our dreams materialize.
