The Abia State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors on Friday, February 6, 2026, commissioned its state office and inaugurated zonal and local government coordinators in Umuahia as part of efforts to mobilize grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, held at the Renewed Hope State Secretariat in the New Government Layout (along Winners’ Road), Umuahia, drew a large turnout of All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts, party leaders, and supporters.

Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma, who serves as the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, was represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Hon. (Mrs.) Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. She performed the commissioning of the state office, which was donated by Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, the Abia State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and a former Minister of State for Science and Technology.

In her remarks, Hon. Onyejeocha emphasized that the Renewed Hope structure would serve as a key platform for mobilization, engagement, and sustained grassroots outreach. She stated that the responsibility of communicating the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to the people at the grassroots level rested with the group, adding that with unity, dedication, and hard work, the APC would secure victory in Abia State in 2027.

Governor Uzodinma, through his representative, charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to work toward President Tinubu’s re-election, highlighting the president’s transformative policies aimed at rebuilding the national economy, alleviating poverty, and easing the hardships faced by Nigerians.

Chief Henry Ikoh, while inaugurating the zonal and local government coordinators, reiterated the group’s mandate to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election and support for APC candidates in Abia State and across the South-East. He pointed to impacts such as stabilization of the naira, the removal of fuel subsidy leading to increased revenue allocations to states, local governments, and tertiary institutions, and other initiatives delivering dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

He urged the coordinators to engage communities actively, promote the president’s development efforts, infrastructure projects, and economic programs, and work to secure massive support for President Tinubu and APC candidates in Abia State in 2027.

Senator Nkechi Nworgu, among other dignitaries, described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as the “political wheel” for re-electing President Tinubu, expressing determination to deliver strong support from Abia voters and improve on the party’s performance in previous elections.

The ceremony featured enthusiastic participation, with attendees singing and celebrating in a display of commitment to the APC’s future in the state.

Other notable figures in attendance included Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu (Abia State APC Chairman), Hon. Emeka Atuma (former House of Representatives member), Hon. Christopher Enweremadu (former Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly), Hon. Prince Paul Ikonne (former Executive Secretary, NALDA), Hon. Uchenna Nwankpa (former Minority Leader, Abia State House of Assembly), Hon. Vincent Iyamah (former Commissioner), Hon. Chief Nduka Anyanwu (former Board Chairman, ASCON, and former APC National Executive Committee member), Ambassador Philip, Dr. Ndukwe (former APC State Chairman and former JAMB Board Chairman), and several others.

Speakers consistently affirmed the resolve of party members in Abia to back President Tinubu’s re-election and strengthen the APC’s position through this dedicated support structure.
