Nollywood actress and filmmaker Peju Johnson has opened up about her most unforgettable yet disappointing Valentine’s Day experience, revealing how what initially appeared to be a romantic gesture later turned into a shocking discovery.

The actress told Potpourri in a chat that her ex-boyfriend once surprised her with special Valentine’s gifts, making her feel valued, only for her to later find out that he had presented identical gifts to two other women.

Recounting the experience, Johnson described the moment as both memorable and painful, noting that it remains one Valentine’s Day she cannot forget. Despite the emotional setback, she maintained that the experience taught her valuable lessons about love and relationships.

Speaking on her understanding of true love, the actress explained that she believes love is built on respect, care, unwavering support, and standing by each other through challenges. She emphasized that genuine love requires commitment and a willingness to remain loyal and supportive regardless of circumstances.

Johnson also stressed that Valentine’s Day should not be limited to romantic partners alone. According to her, the celebration should serve as an opportunity to express love and appreciation to family members, friends, and other loved ones, highlighting that love exists in different forms beyond romantic relationships.

Looking ahead, the filmmaker shared her vision of a perfect Valentine’s Day celebration, describing it as a romantic getaway on a beautifully decorated yacht in destinations such as Dubai or Monaco, shared with the love of her life. She noted that meaningful experiences and genuine affection remain her ultimate expectations for future Valentine’s celebrations.
