As part of its commitment to discovering and developing young football talents, MOP Stars FC Academy has signed 20 youngsters into its under-14 team.

The young players, drawn from different states across Nigeria, were officially unveiled on Saturday at the MOP Stars Arena, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The players were signed from Young Future Football Academy and are expected to be managed and developed by MOP Stars FC over the next 10 years, in line with the club’s objective of scouting, nurturing and promoting emerging football talents across the country.

In post-unveiling matches, the newly assembled MOP Stars under-14 team impressed fans and football enthusiasts with confident and skilful displays, defeating Royal FC 2–0 before going on to thrash Sakwatan Academy 2–0 on the same day.

Speaking on the development, Coach of Young Future FA, Waje Buhari Israel, commended the management of MOP Stars FC for providing a platform for the young players to grow and showcase their talents.

President of MOP Stars FC, Dr. Suleiman Adejoh, said the initiative aligns with his vision of discovering, developing and empowering Nigeria’s budding football talents.

“The Messengers of Peace (MOP) Stars Football Academy was born out of the need to preach peace in Nigeria through sports and to positively engage young Nigerians, while also contributing to football development,” he said.

“We already have players in our under-16 and under-19 teams who are actively playing and winning matches. These youngsters unveiled today form part of our under-14 team.

“As you can see, they were selected from different states, which reflects our belief in the even development of talents across Nigeria,” Adejoh added.
