The Member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jafaru Yakubu, has described the defection of Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strategic development that will reposition the state for accelerated growth.
In a statement, Yakubu noted that the Governor’s decision to align with the ruling party at the centre reflects a forward-looking commitment to stronger federal collaboration and sustainable development.
He explained that the new political alignment will open doors for improved policy coordination, smoother execution of projects, and faster delivery of critical infrastructure across Taraba State. Yakubu stressed that states working closely with the Federal Government often enjoy enhanced access to resources and greater support in key sectors.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that the move will translate into increased investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development, ultimately improving the living standards of Taraba’s citizens.
Yakubu congratulated Governor Kefas on what he described as a bold and visionary step, assuring him of continued support and collaboration to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach all communities across Bali, Gassol, and the entire state.
