Residents of Governor’s Road, Ikotun in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State have urged the Ikeja Electric Distribution Company to proffer quick technical interventions to address the ongoing power inconsistency in the area.

According to residents, while other areas have been enjoying steady power supply, the area has suffered poor supply for close to a month.

The Chairman of Igando Peace Estate Phase IV, Mr. Emmanuel Joseph, in a statement, said that the decline in power supply had cause operational challenges and security risks in the community with had resulted in measurable loss and given rise threats against human lives and property.

He said: “The prolonged outages and irregular energization of feeders expose critical infrastructure—including distribution transformers, feeder pillars, cables, and associated installations—to heightened risks such as vandalism, unauthorized access, and premature equipment deterioration.

“Furthermore, the absence of stable power supply has introduced significant security risks within our communities. Reduced lighting and inactive security systems increase vulnerability to theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities, thereby endangering lives and properties.

“In view of the above, we respectfully request your immediate technical intervention to restore stable and reliable power supply within our area. Additionally, we recommend a review of the affected feeder(s), load allocation, and maintenance strategy to mitigate further occurrences.

“We trust that this matter will be treated with the urgency and professionalism it requires, and we look forward to a prompt and effective resolution.”
