Group backs Ondo finance commissioner

A civic advocacy group, the Concerned Citizens of Owo for Good Governance and Cultural Integrity, has expressed support for the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Wumi Isaac, passing a vote of confidence in her performance.

In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, the group described Isaac as a technocrat whose conduct in office reflects competence, ethical discipline, and strong grassroots acceptance.

The statement, signed by the group’s president, Mr. Olarenwaju Adeleke Joseph, noted that the commissioner has emerged as a stabilising figure within both government and party structures, citing her wide acceptance in Owo across different political lines.

According to the group, party members, community leaders, and residents regard Isaac as progressive and committed to inclusive governance, adding that her goodwill was earned through principled leadership.

The group also highlighted the importance of fair representation in local political processes, stressing that Owo, which produced both the deputy governor and the finance commissioner, should continue to play a significant role in party activities.

It referenced a recent Christmas stakeholders’ meeting with the governor, noting calls for broader inclusion and generational balance in the selection of beneficiaries from the local government.

Reaffirming its confidence in Isaac, the group praised her loyalty to party ideals and commitment to accountability, urging stakeholders to work together in the interest of unity and progress.
