ESBN urges Tinubu to appoint Tombomieye to oil sector role

The Elites Society for Better Nigeria has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye to a key position in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, citing his experience and integrity.

The group said Nigeria needs competent leadership to stabilise and grow the energy sector at a critical time for the economy.

In a statement issued in the United States and made available to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, ESBN President, Mr Sodiq Musa, said Tombomieye possesses exceptional technical expertise and operational knowledge of the oil and gas industry.

Musa said Tombomieye’s years of experience have delivered measurable results, adding that his understanding of sectoral challenges positions him to drive reforms and innovation.

According to the group, Tombomieye is widely regarded as a man of integrity, known for transparent dealings and a strong commitment to accountability.

The ESBN noted that his leadership style, anchored on collaboration, efficiency and sustainability, aligns with global best practices required to reposition Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

It called on President Tinubu to heed the appeal, arguing that Tombomieye’s appointment would strengthen energy security and support the administration’s economic development agenda.

The group added that Nigeria is at a defining moment where visionary leadership in the oil and gas sector is essential for national progress.

ESBN expressed confidence that appointing Tombomieye would mark a turning point for the industry and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economic future.
