Nigerian music artiste, Rowland Onyedika Chima, popularly known as Cruz Of Life, has announced plans to release his first official project for 2026, a two-track Extended Play (EP) titled “ON IT,” slated for release on February 12.

The EP features a collaboration with popular entertainer and actor-turned-musician, Ray Emodi, also known as AWSM (Actor Wey Sabi Music), a partnership that is already generating anticipation among fans and music enthusiasts.
According to the artiste, “ON IT” is expected to deliver a blend of vibrant sounds, lyrical confidence and energetic delivery, elements that have become hallmarks of Cruz Of Life’s evolving musical style.
Cruz Of Life, who hails from Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, said his journey into music began while he was a student of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo. He explained that his passion for music took shape during his school days, where he joined a local church choir as a songwriter and performer.

“While in school, I joined a local church choir as a songwriter and performer. My freestyling skills, bold stage presence and ability to energise audiences earned me recognition as one of the best rappers on campus,” he said.
He noted that his confidence and life-inspired lyrics influenced the adoption of his stage name, Cruz Of Life, adding that the period also saw him win several awards for representing his institution and making significant impact within the campus music scene.

The artiste further disclosed that he relocated to Lagos in 2016 to further develop his craft and confront the realities of the Nigerian music industry. He made a notable return to the spotlight in 2020 with the single “Time 4 Money,” featuring Yovi, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown disrupted his momentum.
Undeterred, Cruz Of Life said he returned strongly in 2024 with songs such as “Good Conduct” and “Gum Body,” maintaining consistency with other releases including “KOV,” “Online Money,” and “TMO.”

With the forthcoming “ON IT” EP, the artiste said he aims to sustain audience engagement while showcasing his growth and artistic evolution. He expressed optimism that the collaboration with Ray Emodi would further strengthen the project’s appeal and mark another milestone in his musical journey.
