Borno Acting Governor, Kadafur condoles with Military, Biu Emir, civilians over deadly Boko Haram attack in Sabon Gari

Borno State Acting Governor, Hon. (Dr.) Umar Usman Kadafur, has commiserated with the Military authorities, Emir of Biu, Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu Mustapha II, and the entire people of the Emirate over the recent brutal attack by ISWAP insurgents on innocent people of Biu Town at Sabon Gari area of Wajiroko village.

The victims were attacked while engaging in their lawful means of livelihood at their place of work in Sabon Gari few days ago.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Press to the Acting Governor, Comrade Bulama Talba on Saturday.

The insurgents reportedly killed several civilians and security personnel who were deployed to provide protection during the repair of the destroyed bridge along Biu-Damboa road while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

In a condolence message, the Acting Governor described the attack as senseless, barbaric, and a painful reminder of the sacrifices being made by innocent citizens and security personnel in the collective fight against terrorism.

He expressed the deep sorrow on behalf of the government and people of the state over the loss of their precious lives.

His Excellency also condoled with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies over the loss of gallant officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty while protecting lives and critical infrastructure.

He prayed for Allah (SWT) to forgive the sins of the departed, grant them eternal rest , comfort their families, and give the injured a speedy and full recovery.

The Acting Governor further reassured the people of the state as well as the security agencies of government’s continued support and commitment to strengthening security and restoring lasting peace across all communities in Borno State.
