NutriSelect Pure, an organic mineral fertilizer, has emerged winner of the Best Fertilizer for Organic Farm Yields and Organic Food Production award at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards, a ceremony that celebrates outstanding contributions to agricultural development, sustainability, and food security in Nigeria.

The award was announced at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards ceremony, which drew policymakers, agribusiness leaders, farmers’ organisations, and key stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.

NutriSelect Pure is a certified organic fertilizer designed to significantly enhance soil health and crop nutrition within organic farming systems. Information presented at the event showed that the product complies with European Union (EU) organic certification standards and has also received approval from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), qualifying it for regulated organic food production.

According to the organisers, the award was based on the fertilizer’s proven impact on improving organic farm yields, its support for safe and traceable organic food production, and its alignment with Nigeria’s drive to promote sustainable agriculture.

Agricultural analysts at the event noted that the increasing adoption of certified organic inputs is critical to Nigeria’s ambition to expand organic food production for export. They observed that international markets, particularly in Europe, impose strict requirements on organic inputs, making the availability of certified fertilizers essential for meeting export standards for crops such as grains, vegetables, fruits, and specialty produce.

The recognition comes against the backdrop of Nigeria’s import control regime, under which the Nigeria Customs Service restricts the importation of certain mineral or chemical fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), including popular formulations such as NPK 15-15-15. These restrictions, however, do not apply to organic fertilizers classified under HS Codes 3105.10.00.00 to 3105.90.00.00, a development that has increased interest in compliant organic fertilizer options produced and distributed locally.

In Nigeria, NutriSelect Pure is distributed by Selector Nigeria Limited and Kaysa Agro Allied & Organic Farms Limited, both of which supply inputs to organic and conventional farmers nationwide.
