NCDMB launches five-ay STEM capacity-building training for teachers in host communities

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced a five-day capacity-building training programme for teachers in oil and gas host communities, with a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. The programme is being implemented by Mode Four Solutions on behalf of the Board.

The initiative is designed to strengthen teachers’ skills and deepen their knowledge in STEM disciplines, with the aim of improving the quality of education in host communities. By equipping educators with modern teaching tools and methodologies, NCDMB seeks to enhance student learning outcomes and better prepare young people for future opportunities within the oil and gas industry.

The training features a blend of hands-on activities, interactive sessions and collaborative lesson-planning exercises to promote active participation and practical learning among educators.

This programme forms part of NCDMB’s broader mandate to build indigenous capacity and capability for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The Board has previously organised similar trainings, underscoring its belief that STEM education is critical to innovation, workforce development and sustainable economic growth.
