Nollywood actress and philanthropist Gloria Jemedafe celebrated Christmas with indigent children at Government College Senior Secondary School, Eric Moore, Surulere. The event, organized by her NGO, Rewrite Nigeria Development Initiative, featured games, dancing, food, and a festive atmosphere
Jemedafe, who lost her father on Christmas day, started this annual tradition in 2019 to honour his memory. “I used to feel sad, but I decided to take the baton for myself,” she said. “This is how I enjoy spending my Christmas. We sponsor a few of them to school and every year for 12 days, we provide daily meals, culminating in the Christmas party,”she added.
A grand prize of N1 million was won by Shadiya Iyabode Julius, with N500,000 cash and N500,000 invested for a monthly stipend. Also, many gift items were given out to the mothers of the indigent children.
Gloria Jemedafe is known for her roles in films like “Love in Transit”, “Bad Boy’s Security”, and “Better Half” She’s also the founder of The Rewrite Nigeria Development Initiative, which yearly organizes a Christmas party for indigent children.
