By Providence Ayanfeoluwa

Global technology leader, HP Inc. (NYSE HPQ) has announced a bold new chapter in its gaming strategy, officially merging its OMEN and HyperX brands under one unified identity: HyperX. The move consolidates decades of innovation in gaming PCs, displays, peripherals, and software into a single powerhouse brand, aimed at delivering seamless experiences for gamers worldwide.

The announcement underscores HP’s commitment to advancing performance, personalization, and creativity in gaming. Josephine Tan, Senior Vice President and Division President of Personal Systems Gaming Solutions at HP Inc., said the merger reflects the company’s vision for the future of play.

“Gamers deserve a seamless experience that matches their passion, from the systems that power their worlds to the gear that connects them. As we bring OMEN and HyperX together, we’re continuing to push the boundaries of gaming innovation, delivering performance, personalization and experiences that help every player reach their full potential.”

At the heart of the launch is the HyperX OMEN MAX 16, which HP is calling the world’s most powerful gaming laptop. Designed for players who demand uncompromising performance, the device delivers up to 300W Total Platform Power-a 20% increase over the previous generation. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors, AMD Ryzen AI chips, and the NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 5090 Laptop GPU, ensuring smooth gameplay with lightning-fast frame rates and immersive visuals.

Cooling has been reimagined with the new Omen tempest cooling Pro system, which introduces a third fan and automatic Fan Cleaner technology. This innovation keeps the laptop running consistently under maximum load, allowing gamers to stay immersed without worrying about overheating or performance drops.

The Omen Max 16 also features a player-focused design, including an industry-leading keyboard polling rate that is up to four times faster than the previous generation. Full-size arrow keys and customizable lighting effects through Omen light studio add to the immersive experience.

Meanwhile, the 16-inch Oled display offers a 240Hz refresh rate and 500-nit brightness, ensuring sharp and responsive visuals for competitive play.

HP also unveiled the HyperX OMEN OLED 34, a monitor engineered for both gamers and creators.
With the merger of OMEN and HyperX, HP is positioning itself as a leader in the gaming industry, offering a unified brand that caters to both competitive players and creative professionals. The company’s latest innovations highlight its ambition to redefine how gamers play, create, and perform-ushering in what it calls a “new era of play.”
