BOMADI — The lawmaker representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, has installed a 10KVA solar mini-grid at Bomadi General Hospital to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the Delta State-owned health facility.

The solar installation was carried out on Friday at the hospital premises by Bamidele Engineering Nigeria Limited. Speaking during the installation, the company’s representative, Engr. Alagbina Abiodun, said the project was designed to address the persistent challenge of erratic power supply at the hospital.

“We have completed the installation of the 10KVA solar mini-grid project facilitated by the representative of Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency. The objective is to provide a stable and reliable electricity supply to this healthcare facility,” he said.

Engr. Abiodun assured the hospital management of the durability and sustainability of the project, noting that the system has sufficient capacity to power critical medical equipment within the hospital.

“We wish to reassure the beneficiaries that this project is sustainable and long-lasting, with enough capacity to support medical operations in the facility,” he added.

Reacting to the intervention, the Secretary of Bomadi Community, Mr. Oweikeye Kosin, described the project as a timely and impactful response to the hospital’s power challenges.

“The leadership of Bomadi Community wishes to express profound gratitude to Hon. Nicholas Mutu for facilitating developmental projects in our community and the local government at large. We appreciate his tireless efforts and urge him to continue his laudable service to his constituents,” he said.

Similarly, an informal adviser to the lawmaker, Mr. Akwagbe Oweikeye, noted that the solar project was just one of several interventions executed by Hon. Mutu across the constituency. He expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the area.

“I thank Almighty God for Hon. Mutu’s intervention in resolving the electricity challenges at the general hospital. As a responsive leader, he has addressed a long-standing problem, and I pray that God grants him success in all his aspirations,” Oweikeye stated.

Meanwhile, the management of Bomadi General Hospital also expressed gratitude to the lawmaker, describing the project as another demonstration of his consistent support for the health facility.

Speaking on behalf of the Zonal Medical Director and staff, the Assistant Secretary of the hospital, Mr. Tomu Kingsley, alongside Matron Patricia Okoba, noted that the solar installation would significantly ease the hospital’s electricity challenges.

“We sincerely appreciate Hon. Nicholas Mutu for his contributions to this hospital. This is the third time he has intervened here. On a previous occasion, when we urgently needed theatre equipment, he provided them.

“We commend him for this solar power initiative, which will greatly enhance service delivery at the hospital. On behalf of the Zonal Medical Director and staff, we pray that Almighty God blesses him abundantly in all his endeavours,” the hospital management said.
