The Registered Board of Trustees of Mount Zion LightHouse Full Gospel Church has nullified the suspension and excommunication of some of it members by Archbishop Nyong Ayankdue against Bishop Peter Udokang, Elder Marshal Udoh and Elder Emmanuel Edoho.
In a statement by Mrs Uduak Akpan, the church declared the action null and void and without any legal, constitutional or ecclesiastical effect.
According to the statement, “The Board of Trustees finds these actions ultra vires, unlawful, and in direct violation of the church’s constitution, having been taken without due process, proper authorization, or the required approval of the Board as the Church’s sole governing authority.
“Accordingly, the affected persons are hereby fully, unconditionally, and immediately reinstated to their respective offices, ranks, rights, privileges, responsibilities, and standing within the Church, without restriction, reservation, or prejudice.
“The Board of Trustees hereby directs Archbishop Nyong Ayakndue to immediately cease and desist from any further representation or action on behalf of the Church. Any continued unauthorized conduct will result in severe consequences.
“Furthermore, the Board advises and requires Archbishop Nyong Ayakndue to confine himself to an orderly, peaceful, and dignified retirement, in the overriding interest of preserving institutional stability, ecclesiastical discipline, and public confidence in the Church.
“Notice is hereby given to the following individuals to immediately stop parading themselves as Church Trustees, as they are not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC): His Lordship Bishop J. Ekwere; His Lordship Bishop A. Archibong; His Lordship Bishop O. Effiok; His Lordship Bishop Akpan. “Continued misrepresentation will attract severe legal and disciplinary action.”
