The Leader, Bomadi Local Government Legislative Arm, Delta State, Mr. Doubra Wurukeseye including other councillors have said that the purported impeachment notice, seeking the removal Dagidi Andaye, Chairman of Bomadi council never emanated from the House.
Wurukeseye also called on the state Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest Tiriki ThankGod for impersonating the leadership position of the Bomadi Legislative Arm to deceive unsuspecting public.
The leader of the legislative Arm refuted and distant the legislature from the purported impeachment notice to the Delta State House of Assembly, seeking the removal of Bomadi council chairman, Andaye, describing it, as an exercise in futility.
Wurukeseye while dismissing a recent media publication of an impeachment notice against the chairman, said that members frawn at the flawed the impeachment notice on the council chairman embarked upon by Tiriki, adding that no councillor was involved in such a move, hence ‘it was an unauthorised notice.’
He further reiterated that the allegation of forgery of signatures levelled against Mr Chairman to obtain loan was false and explained that Andaye followed due process to acquire it.
“All concerned authorities in Bomadi council including Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Director of Personnel Management DPM, DPM , Treasurer of Local Government, TLG and the Legislative Arm were all involved at a meeting, endorsed the acquisition of the loan facility, to be used to clear outstanding debt owed contractors.”
Wurukeseye said that Tiriki was straying because of personal matters and was being used by some elements to dent the soaring image of the council chairman.
According him, “The Legislative Arm of Bomadi council was under lock and key, no legislative session took place,” alleging that a councilor was parading himself as leader emerging from a sitting that did not hold.
Wurukeseye noted that all councillors recently converged at the council to commend Mr Chairman for being awarded the best Chairman of Council in Nigeria, informing him that the Legislative Arm was proud for being partners in the development of the Bomadi council.
He charged the Delta State House of Assembly to embark on fair hearing and demand for supporting documents from the petitioner, Tiriki to ascertain if due procedure was followed.
