A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Martha Agba, has called on existing members and prospective entrants to actively participate in the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening the party’s internal democracy and grassroots structure.
In a statement made available to the press on Monday, Agba said the e-registration initiative reflects the APC’s commitment to modernisation, transparency and inclusiveness, noting that the exercise would ensure that all genuine members are properly documented and carried along in party affairs.
She expressed satisfaction with the successful take-off of the Train-the-Agents programme in the Northern Senatorial District, which commenced in Ogoja and covers Yala, Bekwarra, Obudu, Obanliku and Ogoja local government areas.
According to her, the level of preparedness and commitment shown by party agents and stakeholders demonstrates the seriousness of the exercise and the party’s resolve to leave no member behind as it expands to other senatorial districts.
Agba urged all APC members in the state, both old and new, to take the e-registration seriously, stressing that proper registration guarantees active participation, recognition and relevance in future party activities, consultations and elections.
She also extended an open invitation to non-members who share the APC’s progressive ideals to seize the opportunity to officially join the party, describing the APC as a platform anchored on unity, growth and service to the people.
The APC stalwart further appealed to members to cooperate with designated registration agents, adhere strictly to the guidelines and ensure that their details are accurately captured.
According to her, sustained participation and unity among members remain key to building a stronger APC that truly represents the aspirations of Cross River State and Nigeria at large.
