Abbah village has successfully defended its title by emerging the champion in the Nsugbe Orula 2025 community football tournament sponsored by Offor Global Network, a non-governmental organization founded by Dr. Stan Chinedu Emoh, an indigene of Nsugbe in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, with a total prize of ₦5 million.
Abbah Village, which won the 2024 edition edged Akpalagu Village on Jan. 1, 2026 in the final of match which started December 19, 2025.
Speaking shortly after the final game, the founder of Offor Global Network and sponsor of the tournament, Dr. Stan Chinedu Emoh, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Ngozi Jennifer Emoh, and their four children, said his decision to sponsor the competition was driven by a genuine desire to make the Christmas celebration meaningful and lively for the people of Nsugbe.
He further said the tournament serves as a platform for talent discovery, youth engagement, and community unity, noting that sports remain a powerful tool for redirecting youthful energy positively and fostering peace among communities.
Dr. Stan Chinedu Emoh said the tournament which has been on for over a decade started on a modest scale but has grown to a huge sum of N5m through consistency and personal sacrifice, setting a new benchmark for community-based sports development in Nsugbe.
The sporting event attracted several dignitaries and respected stakeholders in Nsugbe, including Distinguished Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye, Sir Nnamdi Okeke, the President General of Nsugbe Community, as well as other prominent sons and daughters of Nsugbe.
Members of the Nsugbe community, youths, and sports enthusiasts commended Dr. Stan Chinedu Emoh for his consistency, generosity, and genuine love for Nsugbe, describing him as a bridge-builder, a true son of Nsugbe whose investments in people continue to inspire.
