WACPeople launches ‘Clean December’ with curated calendar of cultural experiences

As December approaches, WACPeople is inviting residents and diaspora visitors to experience the city differently. Clean December, starting next week, is a month-long programme of curated events that guide participants through Lagos’ festive season with intentionality, creativity, and community at its core.

At the heart of the initiative is a Clean December calendar, mapping diverse experiences each week. Participants can choose wellness sessions, curated dining paired with fine wine, intimate live music, or creative workshops, all designed to encourage reflection, connection, and celebration without the usual overwhelm of December in Lagos.

“Our goal was to rethink how people celebrate the city at this time of year,” says Fawole Peter Ayomide, Founder and CEO of WACPeople. “Clean December is about creating meaningful spaces where both residents and diaspora visitors can connect with Lagos’ culture and with each other.”

The programme is a collaboration with partners who bring distinct flavors to the experience. Amabile Di Rosa provides wines that complement bespoke dining events, creating moments where taste, conversation, and art converge. 16 by 16 hosts workshops and intimate dining sessions in their versatile space, giving participants the chance to bond and engage creatively.

For music lovers, WINTAR Studios facilitates studio sessions where small groups can connect over live performances and collaborative music experiences and many more partners. The calendar is structured to ensure that each week offers a new way to explore Lagos’ cultural pulse.

Yemi Animashaun, Lead Creative Director at WACPeople, explains: “We wanted to give people tools to plan their December intentionally.

“With wellness, live music, dining, and creative workshops across the city, the Clean December calendar allows participants to mix and match experiences. Each week has something unique, so whether you’re in Lagos or joining from abroad, you can curate a festive season that feels balanced, intentional, and memorable.”

The initiative emerged from WACPeople’s observation that traditional December celebrations often overwhelm both residents and visitors. Clean December provides a structured alternative: a festive rhythm that is energetic yet thoughtful, celebratory yet calm.

Early responses suggest the calendar resonates. Young Lagosians, diaspora visitors, and creative partners alike are eager to participate, drawn by a combination of artistry, community, and curated engagement. From wine and food experiences to workshops, live music, and wellness sessions, Clean December offers a holistic approach that goes beyond conventional festive programming.

“Clean December is our invitation to Lagos and beyond,” says Fawole. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate thoughtfully, connect meaningfully, and experience the city’s culture at a pace that leaves room to breathe and enjoy.”

For a city known for its relentless energy, Clean December provides a map — a calendar that helps participants navigate a festive season filled with intentional experiences, cultural connection, and lasting memories.

With partners like Amabile Di Rosa, 16 by 16, and WINTAR Studios, the programme offers curated moments across wellness, music, dining, and creative engagement, redefining what it means to celebrate December in Lagos.
