Omoha Nduka applauds Tinubu’s Choice of Gen. Musa, says appointment strengthens national security

Prominent businessman and entrepreneur, Prince Omoha Nduka, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former Chief of Defence Staff, General Ibrahim Musa, as Minister of Defence, describing the decision as timely and strategic in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

In a statement issued in Lagos, Prince Omoha, Chairman of PLG Holdings Limited, said the appointment has received positive reactions from military professionals and political analysts, noting that it aligns with the country’s urgent need for strong and experienced leadership in the defence sector.

According to him, General Musa’s decades of service in the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly his role in counter-insurgency operations in northern Nigeria, make him well suited to lead the Ministry of Defence at a critical period marked by terrorism, banditry and regional instability.

Prince Omoha expressed optimism that the new defence minister would strengthen the nation’s security framework and enhance the effectiveness of the armed forces. He stressed that decisive leadership is essential to restoring public confidence and improving safety across the country.

He also called for a broader and more integrated approach to national security, urging closer collaboration between civilian authorities and the military. Such an approach, he said, should combine military operations with community engagement and socio-economic development to address the root causes of insecurity.

General Musa’s appointment comes amid sustained security concerns in several parts of the country, raising expectations for reforms within the Ministry of Defence. Stakeholders have expressed hope that his leadership will promote greater accountability and transparency in the armed forces.

As the new minister prepares to assume office, attention is focused on the strategies he will introduce to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges. Prince Omoha’s endorsement reflects a growing belief that effective leadership in key security positions is central to the nation’s quest for peace and long-term stability.
