The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Augoe and Sons Company Nigeria Limited, has successfully concluded a one-month world-class training programme on Welding Fabrication and Qualification, aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with industry-relevant technical skills.

The intensive programme trained 40 youths, exposing them to hands-on instruction and practical experience in welding fabrication to prepare them for employment and entrepreneurship in the oil and gas sector and other related industries.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, a representative of Augoe and Sons Company, Idi Presley, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support to the NCDMB and its mandate to deepen local content development. He also commended the leadership of the NCDMB under its Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, for prioritising youth empowerment and skills acquisition.

At the end of the programme, certificates were presented to all participants, who expressed excitement and confidence about the technical competencies they gained during the training.

The initiative further highlights the NCDMB’s commitment to building local capacity and empowering Nigerian youths through targeted skills development programmes that align with industry needs. The Board has consistently championed Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry, including through initiatives such as the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Programme, which focuses on equipping young Nigerians with practical skills in high-demand areas.

Stakeholders noted that such programmes are critical to reducing unemployment, enhancing indigenous participation, and strengthening Nigeria’s human capital base in the energy sector.
