WARRI — The God’s Kingdom Society Women’s Fellowship (GKSWF) has called on Nigerian women to embrace godly virtues and spiritual-mindedness as essential tools for navigating contemporary challenges.

The charge was given during the Christian Women Assembly held as part of the ongoing Feast of Tabernacles of the God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) in Warri, Delta State.

As part of the programme, the fellowship also empowered 57 indigent members with welfare support valued at over ₦11 million, reinforcing its commitment to social support and Christian charity.

Speaking on the topic “Minding Spiritual Things as a Christian Woman in This Age,” Sister Dohmobo Leghemo stressed the importance of spiritual devotion and godly conduct in the life of a Christian woman.

In a related lecture titled “Object Lessons from the Story of Hannah,” Sister Chika Nwaeke urged women to cultivate humility, meekness and a quiet spirit, noting that arrogance and pride undermine Christian values.

“As Christian sisters, we must eschew arrogance and pride. Humility and respect should be our watchword. We should not be tempted to do evil to our neighbour, and our words should be seasoned with grace. If we submit to our elders, God will elevate us in due season,” she said.

She further encouraged women to emulate the biblical character of Hannah by remaining confident, focused, steadfast and unmovable in the face of trials and challenges.

The Chairperson of GKSWF Nigeria and Abroad, Sister Cindy Igba-Ujene, also charged women to reflect on virtues that would positively impact their families, the church and society at large.

The Feast of Tabernacles featured a colourful music festival, with choral and musical groups from various church branches performing. More than 100 GKS branches are participating in the eight-day convocation.

The programme also includes daily lectures on Christian doctrines delivered by ministers and lay members, with over 13 sermons and lectures presented so far.

In addition, a special children’s session was held at St. Urhobo Square, where biblical lessons on the story of the prodigal son were delivered, alongside children’s choir renditions, choreography, Bible recitations and other activities.

The Women’s Fellowship activities will culminate in “Kroghwa Day,” marked by a procession of GKS women through major streets in Warri, returning to Salem City for the presentation of an address and welfare packages in support of the Lord’s ministry.
