The maiden edition of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) Film and TV Investment Summit was a historic moment on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the ongoing the Zuma International Film Festival.
Under the leadership of Uche Agbo, the summit underscored DGN’s ambition to be the apex professional body in Nollywood, fostering dialogue on financing, co‑production, investment and sustainable growth.
In his opening remarks, the President thanked the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), the festival’s organiser led by Dr. Ali Nuhu for its partnership and reaffirmed DGN’s commitment to deepen the collaboration for greater industry impact.
The event drew a diverse crowd: international and Nigerian filmmakers, key stakeholders, and students from secondary and tertiary institutions, all eager to explore fresh financing and development pathways.
Notable attendees included Ms. Tari Taylaur, Executive Director of Programs at NTA, representatives from Cornerstone Insurance Company, and several distinguished guests who enriched the discussions. The panel was moderated by Prince Daniel (aka Aboki), who also served as team leader for planning and executing the summit.
This bold initiative, championed by the new DGN administration under Uche Agbo, is seen as a promising step toward unlocking new possibilities for Nollywood’s future.
