Detty December: Lagos launches health hotline to support residents, visitors

Lagos State has unveiled a new round-the-clock medical access line, 07000HEALTH (432584), as part of efforts to improve public safety and healthcare access during the heightened activities of the Detty December festive season.

The hotline, launched alongside a new digital platform, www.07000Health.com, is designed to provide fast, reliable medical support for both residents and the millions of visitors expected in the state throughout December.

The initiative comes as Lagos experiences its annual spike in tourist inflow, nightlife events, large gatherings, and increased citywide movement—circumstances that typically drive a surge in medical concerns ranging from dehydration and fatigue to food-related illnesses and minor injuries.

According to organisers, the hotline will serve as a single point of access connecting callers to a wide range of services including emergency guidance, clinical help for common conditions, diagnostic tests, dental and eye care, pharmacy delivery, and doctor or nurse home visits.

Coordinator of 07000HEALTH, Akin Eso, said the service was created to meet the demands of Lagos’ busiest season.

“Lagos moves at an extraordinary intensity in December, and healthcare must move with it,” Eso said. “07000HEALTH was created to match the pace of Detty December by giving visitors and residents one easy, reliable number for immediate medical help. Whether someone needs an IV drip at 2 AM, a doctor to visit their Airbnb, safe medication delivered to their hotel, or proper direction during an emergency, they can now access that support instantly.”

The newly launched website will complement the hotline by offering a seamless digital option for users to request medical services, schedule checkups, or obtain information without making a phone call—particularly beneficial for international visitors.

Officials say the hotline and online platform will operate continuously throughout December and into the new year. Hotels, event planners, nightlife venues, and hospitality operators are encouraged to share the service details to ensure rapid medical support is always available during the festive period.
