ABUJA — The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has congratulated former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, on his appointment as the North-Central Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
President Bola Tinubu recently appointed six zonal coordinators to oversee the Renewed Hope Initiative Committees, which are aimed at driving policy engagement and development-focused activities across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
The other zonal coordinators are Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa (South-South), Isah Yuguda (North-East), Aminu Bello Masari (North-West), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim (South-East) and Oladipupo Oyinbande (South-West). The coordinators are to work under the supervision of the initiative’s ambassador, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, the Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, described Al-Makura’s appointment as well deserved, citing his experience in governance and party administration.
The Forum said it has confidence in Al-Makura’s capacity to effectively coordinate activities in the zone and called on party stakeholders in the North-Central to support him in the discharge of his new responsibilities.
The group thanked President Tinubu for what it described as a well-considered appointment, noting that Al-Makura’s political experience and long-standing involvement in party activities positioned him for the role.
The statement highlighted Al-Makura’s political background, including his role in the formation of the APC and his service as a two-term governor and former senator.
The Forum also congratulated Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on his appointment as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation, as well as Renewed Hope Ambassador.
According to the Forum, Uzodinma’s experience in party administration and governance will be valuable in supporting party engagement and coordination.
The APC Forum expressed optimism that the newly appointed officials would discharge their responsibilities effectively in strengthening party structures and stakeholder engagement across the country.
