Recall that former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua knocked out YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in their controversial Netflix-backed bout in Miami on Friday.
The fight at the Kaseya Center, which saw both men reportedly splitting a mammoth purse of $184 million, had triggered alarm across boxing due to the gulf in physical size and class between Britain’s two-time former world champion Joshua and Paul, an internet personality who has forged a lucrative career through a handful of novelty boxing contests. Reacting, Peter Oboh, now a cleric, congratulated Anthony Joshua “for one of his best ever recent boxing performance yesterday over Jake Paul in a fantastic show down in Miami”.
According to Oboh, “Anthony Joshua stopped Jake Paul in the sixth round. Although Jake Paul lost the fight, he did not lose the battle. I, and many wise fans, have more respect for Jake Paul now than before the fight with Joshua.
“The gospel truth is that Jake Paul has everything to be proud of, when it comes to boxing. Paul really gave his best, but it was not enough. He has the heart of a lion to be in there with Anthony Joshua, a former Olympic Super Heavyweight boxing gold medalist and two-times Heavyweight World boxing Champion.
“Meanwhile, I think Anthony Joshua still has about two or three more fights in him. Note this: before a big generator breaks down, it will be off and on.
“Jake Paul met Anthony Joshua’s gen on, while Daniel Dubois met Joshua’s gen off. I think Joshua v Moses Itauma would have being a better future fight. Thereafter, Tyson Fury coming out of retirement to fight Joshua.
“Joshua v Itauma; we all know – plus the great boxing promoters like Frank Warren, and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearns – whoever wins must have a big boxing future ahead. This goes with winning a World Heavyweight boxing title.”
