A United States-based lawyer and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Prince Christmas Akpodiete, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on his 10th coronation anniversary, describing his reign as a period marked by unity, cultural renaissance and peace-building efforts across Yorubaland and beyond.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen, Akpodiete, an APC member from Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, commended the traditional ruler’s leadership, saying the monarch has repositioned the ancient stool of Oduduwa as a symbol of peace, inter-ethnic harmony and cultural diplomacy.
He also congratulated the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her installation as Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile-Oodua, describing the honour as well-deserved and a reflection of her contributions to national development, women empowerment and the preservation of Yoruba cultural values.
Akpodiete stated that the conferment of the traditional title on the First Lady further strengthened the bond between traditional institutions and modern leadership, adding that such recognition would deepen national cohesion and respect for cultural heritage.
He urged Nigerians, particularly those in leadership positions, to continue to draw inspiration from the peace-building role of traditional rulers and the stabilising influence of women in governance.
According to him, the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni and the installation of the First Lady as Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile-Oodua were milestones worthy of national celebration.
He wished the Ooni many more years of peaceful reign and prayed for continued wisdom and good health for the First Lady in her service to the nation.
