The growth and stability of any  Nation is predicated on  credible and responsible leadership that upholds trust as a binding covenant between the citizens and those entrusted to lead at various tiers of government. 

The South East region has for decades been riddled with political , economic and security instabilities that have derailed any meaningful development and progress. This had led to the persistent  complaint of marginalization, deprivation and exclusion from the scheme of things at the  top leadership echelon of the Nation.

To assuage these shortcomings and bitter emotions Ndi Igbo must realize the need to collapse their political interest to a well organized and coordinated central regional leadership structure in order to advance their yearnings for regional development, empowerment opportunities  and inclusion in the government at the center.

It is important to state that these agitations can be astutely addressed when we build bridges across the various components of the ethnic federating units of Nigeria which can only be hinged on the foundation of  shared Unbroken Trust between Ndi Igbo and other ethnic partners in the Nigeria project  , that trust  remains an integral factor and key for unlocking the opportunity for Ndi Igbo to be given a shot at the leadership of the Nation .

Since the days of our forebears, the legendary Nnamdi Azikiwe ( Zik of Africa ), Akanu Ibiam, Michael Okpara, K .O Mvadiwe and others, the people of the South East are yet to have or endorse a personality upon which their expectations of a central leadership role could revolve around . It is my firm believe that such a leader  ought to possess widespread political goodwill,  tentacles ,  capabilities, patriotism and predictable character that can be trusted and attested to by other Nigerians  just as we have presently witnessed  in the life and person of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State who dubs as the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and  the Progressive Governor Forum .

The  excellent performance of Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors  forum  provided  President Bola Tinubu , the APC governors , National Assembly Members and party Stalwarts the platform to evaluate his administrative competence , grassroots mobilization ability , political party and human managerial capacity.

Governor Uzodimma’s loyalty and commitment to President Tinubu and the APC  is proven by the successes he attained  through his efficient discharge of various national daunting tasks assigned to him by  President Bola Tiinubu  ,  a performance that made him gain the confidence of his fellow APC Governors to lead them . This attribute also earned him the  unbroken trust and confidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to handle the assignment given to him .

The Chairman of the Progressive Governor’s  landmark development and progress achieved in Imo State as evidenced by the retinue of legacy projects and flagship empowerment strides provided for the  youths of the state  exemplified his inbred governance and leadership acumen.

His enigmatic roles in providing guidance and direction for strengthening and repositioning of APC in the South East and across the  country sealed President Bola Tiinubu’s trust in Uzodimma’s  abilities and competence  to lead the APC planning , mobilization and strategies for Mr President’s reelection in the 2027 and also to  highlight the numerous achievements of the APC led administration.

Unarguably, his dedication to party affairs, capabilities, loyalty and Unbroken trust of the President are the  reasons why  President Tinubu appointed him as the Renewed Hope Ambassador and the Director-General for Party outreach, engagement and mobilisation   with an enlarged scope of responsibilities. .

It is important to  note that the appointment is also a confidence building initiative which ought to inspire the South East people to tag along with the president for better opportunities in the APC led government. The move  shows the extent at which the President is willing to cooperate and work with the people of the South East region to benefit from the Federal government infrastructure development projects, empowerment programs  and inclusion in his  government.

The President’s gesture is a friendly and brotherly handshake across the Niger which is seen as a leadership recommendation on Governor Hope Uzodimma  for which we must have to rally support around him as the recognized central coordinating figure for the South East APC and for the overall interest and progress of the Igbo nation .

Perusing the  press release on the appointment by President Bola Tinubu that was issued on 25th November 2025 by  Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & strategy , one can  note the scope of the enormous responsibilities placed on the Renewed Hope Ambassador, that mandates him to interface with the different political structures of  All Progressives Congress , APC in the  country .

President Bola Tinubu by the appointment has given Governor Uzodimma the mandate of oversight coordinating functions, grassroots mobilization,  overseeing the affairs of the party at National headquarters and in the states in collaboration with the APC National leadership and Governors.

The move showcased President Tinubu’s aim of centralizing the power of his reelection project on the Renewed Hope Ambassador, His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, and its nationwide structures. 

A critical look at the culled contents of the appointment press release as shown below evokes to mind the challenges ahead on the road to a political certainty. 

“In his role as ambassador, he will double as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation. ” 

Going by the statement above, the responsibility to oversee the party engagements and mobilization activities has been delegated to the Renewed Hope Ambassador, which is a confirmation of Uzodimma’s heightened experience  in political party managerial skills and grass roots mobilization by Mr President.

The press statement further bequeathed on Uzodimma the role of creating the structure for public awareness on the government’s , projects, policies and programs as well as providing leadership direction and advice to the APC NWC leadership working in concert with the APC Governors as contained in Onanuga’s press statement : “With the appointment, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodimma will be responsible, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress leadership and the governors, for evangelising the Tinubu administration’s programme”

As contained in Onanuga’s press statement, the APC Governors are to take charge of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors with their Coordinators in their respective states , for grassroots mobilization , party engagement and the dissemination of information on government programs to the grassroots  and various wards in their states. 

In States where there are no APC Governors, the state Coordinators  are appointed to take charge of the affairs with major Stakeholders from their state.

The statement reads further “As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Governor Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, will ensure harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across all levels of the party. He will also be involved in mobilising and engaging people.

“He will work with the APC governors, who will also be Ambassadors of Hope” 

“The multiplicity of the APC political structures is a strategy that will expand the chances for inclusivity , greater grassroots mobilization and party outreach that will create wider platforms for the dissemination of information on the achievements and empowerment programs of President Bola Tinubu’s administration at the wards level nationwide.

The task and responsibility bestowed on Governor Hope by Mr President is achievable, it requires the cooperation of all the APC Stakeholders in the country including those from the South East  to key into the opportunity and render their support and loyalty to the leadership role entrusted on Governor Hope Uzodimma by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his reelection.

Ndi Igbo needs  to come together, organize themselves and be focused so that they can negotiate their interest  through the central Coordinator His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma who possess  the courage, humility, resilience and wisdom necessary for  pursuing the  economic interest, infrastructures development in the region and the political future of the people of the South East region within the committee of Nigeria State.

More than ever, this quest is satisfied by the providence of nature’s destiny  and strategic positioning of His Excellency Hope Uzodimma within the power dynamics of the APC led government of President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’ estate Stakeholders.

He is favourably disposed to fill the vacuum and to discharge that onerous role for Ndi Igbo.

Let us come together and give him our unalloyed support for the benefit of the South East region and our peaceful coexistence in the  Nation
