The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial district, Senator Ned Nwoko has reflected on his two years foray in the National Assembly, acknowledging that it has been a transformative legislative experience.

Nwoko, in a Facebook post, highlighted his sponsorship of the bill for Constitutional Alteration for the Creation of Anioma State, proposal that seeks to create Anioma State from Delta North Senatorial district for correction of geopolitical imbalance and deepening representation and development.

The bill seems for creation of Anioma State into the South East zone for the equalization of South East states among the other geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

A group, the South East Unification Movement (SEUM) in a statement it made available in Enugu said it supported the integration of Anioma as one if the mainstream states in the south east.

Coordinator of the group, Ikechukwu Isingene said that they will continue to support the creation of Anioma State and for it to be part of the south east geopolitical zone, adding that Anioma’s merge into the South East will fulfill the Igbo aspiration for elimination of political Marginalization.

Nwoko in his reflection said, “As I continue to reflect on my two-year journey in the Senate, I take pride in highlighting one of the strongest pillars of my legislative record: the sponsorship of 34 transformative Bills that speak directly to the needs of Nigerians and the future of our nation.

“Each of these Bills represents my unwavering commitment to people-centered governance, economic reform, youth empowerment, institutional strengthening, and the equitable development of all regions particularly Delta North, which I proudly represent.

“These 34 Bills reflect my vision of a reformed, equitable, and globally competitive Nigeria — where governance works for the people, institutions serve with integrity, and every citizen, from Delta North to every part of the Federation, feels the impact of effective representation.”
