Jos – Paravolley Africa has announced the appointment of Jackson Imandi as President of its West Africa Development Commission, entrusting him with the responsibility of steering paravolley growth across the subregion.

His appointment was confirmed through a letter dated 5 November 2025 and issued by the organisation’s Director of Development, Robinson Tumwesigye.

In the letter, Tumwesigye noted that the choice of Imandi followed a deliberate and carefully considered process, acknowledging his consistent contributions to the advancement of volleyball.

His tenure as President of the West Africa Development Commission will run for four years from the date of the appointment letter.

The letter further commended Imandi’s “firmness and assurances” in supporting the steady development of the sport, adding that placing him at the helm of the commission was both “prudent and right” as the body seeks to expand sitting volleyball, beach paravolley and standing volleyball in Nigeria and across West Africa.

Responding to the announcement, Imandi described the offer as “a great honour,” saying he accepted the role with humility. He expressed his commitment to delivering on the commission’s objectives and strengthening paravolley programmes within the subregion.

Imandi’s background in volleyball spans several decades. A former player with the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Armed Forces during his military career, he has also held various administrative positions in the sport.

He previously chaired the FCT Volleyball Association, served on the technical committee of the Nigerian Volleyball Federation, and led the Volleyball Players Association of Nigeria as its immediate past president.

He is currently the chairman of Defence Spikers Volleyball Club, Mogadishu Cantonment—winners of the 2025 National Division 1 League.
